Digital ATA Carnets Are Here

ATA Carnets are officially going digital on June 1, 2026! 

The first phase of the transition from paper ATA Carnets to electronic will begin on June 1, with 30 participating countries across the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK.

What does this mean for our clients?

Effective June 1, all ATA Carnets issued for any of the 30 participating countries will be issued in both electronic and paper formats. This applies even in countries where customs authorities are not yet ready to process eATA Carnets.

For countries that are not part of the initial phase, the paper ATA Carnet will still be presented to customs. For participating countries across the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK, the electronic ATA Carnet will be used.

Our company has been at the forefront of this digital transformation. Teams across Rock-It Cargo, Dynamic DOX, Dynamic International Freight and CARS were among the first to successfully test the eATA Carnet in both hand-carry and cargo environments. We have been actively testing in the UK and Europe throughout the pilot phase and are ready to support clients as the global transition from paper ATA Carnets to electronic ATA Carnets kicks off.
